Acceptable Use Policy
This policy keeps counthis.app fair, safe and available for everyone. It is part of our Terms of Service. Breaking it can lead to counters being reset or disabled and accounts being suspended or closed, without refund.
Keep counts honest
Do not inflate a count artificially. That includes:
- scripts, bots, browser automation or paid traffic that load a badge to raise its number;
- rotating IP addresses, proxies or user agents to get around once-per-visitor counting;
- hiding badges on pages to count views of something else.
We may correct counts we believe were inflated.
Only claim what is yours
Claim counters only for accounts, organizations, repositories, profiles and domains you control. Do not impersonate other people or organizations, and do not combine names you do not control into one badge.
Respect the Service
- Do not try to break, overload or probe the Service, including denial-of-service attacks, vulnerability scanning without our written permission, or attempts to read other accounts' data.
- Stay within API rate limits and do not create counters in bulk to reserve names or exhaust resources.
- Do not resell or rebrand the Service as your own without our written permission.
Content
Badge labels and anything else you publish through the Service must not:
- be unlawful, defamatory, or infringe anyone's rights;
- harass, threaten, or promote violence or hatred against people based on race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, age or similar characteristics;
- be sexually explicit, or involve the exploitation of minors in any way;
- spread malware, phishing or spam.
Payments and sanctions
Do not pay with stolen cards or funds, and do not use the Service if you are subject to U.S. sanctions or located in a comprehensively sanctioned region.
Reporting
Report abuse or security problems to privacy@counthis.app. Please include the badge address and what you saw. We will not take action against good-faith security research that avoids harm to users and data and gives us reasonable time to fix problems before disclosure.
Enforcement
We decide in our reasonable judgment whether something breaks this policy. Where practical we will warn you first, but we may act immediately to protect the Service or others.
